That is our motto. We are big admirers of Dr. Vandana Shiva and her vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The Earth Family). We are passionate supporters of sustainability and organic living, which is why we have made our home eco-friendly and why we care so deeply about the quality of food we serve.
We are a proud British family with international roots, all holding British Citizenship. We primarily speak English at home—perfect for your practice!—but our background is a rich tapestry of cultures.
Nalini is from Mauritius (speaking Hindi, French, and English), Rodolph is French, and our daughter Meg was born in Scotland. Between us, we also speak Italian and Spanish! We know exactly what it feels like to build a life in a new country, and we welcome you into ours with open arms.
Rodolph (The Chef & Host Dad)
If the kitchen is the heart of the home, Rodolph is its heartbeat! His culinary journey spans 15 years as a Chef Consultant. He spent 5 years mastering his craft in the Cayman Islands before returning to the UK for his career highlight: cooking for The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, and her family for two years here in Berkshire.
So, when we say "home-cooked meals," we don't mean a quick sandwich. Rodolph brings those royal standards (and our passion for organic ingredients) into our daily life, ensuring you eat nutritious, delicious food every day.
Beyond the kitchen, his background in HR and Employment Law ensures the house is managed fairly, safely, and professionally.
Nalini (The Nurse & Host Mum)
Nalini is the "host mum" everyone wishes for—caring, attentive, and highly qualified. She has been an NHS Registered Nurse for over 15 years and is currently a Senior Clinical Site Manager at Reading Hospital.
For parents back home, this is a huge relief. Whether it is a seasonal flu or registering with a GP, Nalini has the medical expertise to ensure you are safe. While she isn't a pro chef like Rodolph, she is an excellent cook in her own right, so you are doubly spoiled!
Nalini is deeply committed to the community, recently running the Reading Half Marathon to raise funds for the Reading Hospital Charity. She also runs our local Neighborhood Watch scheme, keeping a watchful eye on our safe sanctuary.
Meg (The Academic Mentor)
Meg is the "big sister" figure in the house. She knows the UK education system inside out, having attended Kendrick Grammar School (one of the top schools in the UK).
She is currently in her 3rd year studying Mathematics and Economics at LSE (London School of Economics). Because she has been through the stress of exams and university applications recently, she is an incredible role model.
She has 5 years of experience tutoring Math and English up to A-Level. Depending on her university schedule, she offers private tuition online (via Zoom) to help students navigate the curriculum and excel in their exams.
Why You Can Trust Us
We know that sending a child abroad requires trust. We don't take that lightly.
- Police Checked: Every adult holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
- Certified: AEGIS & British Council Homestay Training.
- Safeguarding: Government Prevent Duty trained.
We are professional, we are prepared, but most importantly—we are a family.
We can't wait to meet you!
